I sort of picked up this book on a whim， I saw that Camilla Lackberg had a new book and grabbed it up not knowing much about it， so glad I did。 I really like the characters of Mina and Vincent and how the story laid out。 Then I was lucky enough to find an interview Henrik Fexeus gave on youtube about writing the book， so interesting and learned that this will be a trilogy， I am eager to see what is next for these characters。

they're well written and thrilling and not ma （I couldn't find this book here on Goodreads except in a Spanish version， but never mind。 I， myself， read it in a Danish version。 ） I have to say， that this book came as a great & pleasant surprise to me， after recently having subjected myself to C。L。's two erotic， feminist stray books， The Golden Cage & Wings of Silver， both of which I simply deeply disliked。 Otherwise， I very much like Camilla Läckberg's novels about Erica & Patrick in Fjällbacka ; they're well written and thrilling and not marked by a lot of superficial action。 Some of them I even find utterly absorbing and brilliant， but I think it was a good idea that the author wanted to leave that particular universe for a while， for us to meet new main characters and realms。 To my way of seeing/reading it， she failed with The Golden Case and its its sequel， as mentioned。。。。。。but she sO nailed it with this book， which she co-authored with Henrik Fexeus 。I will probably never come to love descriptions of gruesome， bloody murders， and I think a thriller/mystery novel can easily be just as exciting with just one murder （or even none） in the whole book， and there doesn't have to be bloody gruesome descriptions at all 。 But well， you sometimes/often have to take that when you read crime novels， and there is a fair amount of that in this novel。 The overall plot about a mysterious serial killer who leaves riddles to be solved is also completely classic and not innovative or surprising ， but still the story-line IS exciting and I got too little sleep in the period of reading the novel because I read for too long into the night。 In spite of the sometimes gruesome descriptions of murders， I appreciated that the story-line was NOT about drug cartels， human trafficking， gang crime， and basically had no animal cruelty （which usually makes me throw the given book far away） -- except for the dead mink whose description I simply skipped over。 I can't stand cruelty to animals， not even in novels - and I was deeply grateful that the dog， Bosse， didn't come to any harm and ended up with Christer， so they could live happily together。 Thanks， writers！A few ， little wonders was there， too。 I wondered why Vincent was not more affected by the tragedy in his childhood， when he was the cause of his mother's awful death。 Was that because of his autism？ He seemed not to feel any guilt at all， and not to think about it， which to me seems rather unrealistic。 It also seemed a little strange that he was not in any way sought out by the social authorities after the tragedy， but only placed in a foster family and told to forget about it all as it was not his fault。 I also wondered why he never thought about his -once beloved- sister， Jane， in his adult life。 Of course the authors may have thought that if he had had any thoughts of her， it would be too easy for the readers to guess who the killer was。。。 but still， it was a bit too unrealistic that she had no place in his adult mind in general。 SHE had come to hate and resent him， yes。。that figures， but HE ought to still think of her although she had disappeared from his life。 ANYway， as a whole， I just loved this novel， and the main cause for my love is of course the two main characters， Mina and Vincent， and their significant quirks，OCD's and autism。 I simply loved it， from start to finish。 It started out so well， with Vincent and all his counting steps in stairways and buttons in his shirts， and his thought that psychopaths much have made all men's shirts with 7 buttons。-。。lol。 Sometimes Minas's OCDs were almost too much， I thought at first， but I came to love them， too。 I know that conditions like these are not FUNNY ， but it was somehow such a relief to have such main characters， and I cannot praise it enough。 I felt their pain very much， but also truly adored them as they were。 Maybe it's because I see more of myself in them， somehow， than in the fine couple of Fjällbacka， and definitely than in Faye with all her porn-perfect sexual encounters in the two stray books。 I notice that some people think that Mina and Vincent were stereotypes ， probably because their mental disorders took up so much of the book and were so weighty。 But I think that it is definitely realistic to suffer from OCD in that way and it will also fill a lot in the life of the one suffering from it。。 so it was only right & proper that the OCD of the two main characters got a lot of space in the novel。 I look forward to reading the next book in this series， and I hope that Mina and Vincent will nOT recover from their obsessions and compulsions 。 May they always be pained aliens in the world they have to deal with and untangle。。in delightfully many pages。 。。。more

The book was full of clichés and read like it was written by a 14 year old。 The characters were very one dimensional and， because the stereotypes kept repeating， read almost as satire。The story itself was not bad and not good， but it progressed very slowly because of all the unnecessary and repetitive descriptions of characters。 There is no unexpected plot twist and the ending reads like a Christmas romcom movie。Do not recommend。
